So yesterday started as all holiday mornings should, with a bacon sandwich. This was followed by much-a-lounging-around and inactivity. On my part at least. Post-lunch we had itchy feet. With G&G off visiting their new cat we decided to go to one of our favourite spots, the Deer Park at Martin’s Haven opposite Skomer.
It is always a good walk. For start it’s circular. It gives wonderful views of St Bride’s Bay and Skomer and offers a chance to spot birds, seals, and stroke the ponies (if not the cows - not with Dylan for sure). It was particularly lovely yesterday. The sun shone. We saw and stroked the ponies twice. We saw three pairs of choughs (and got photos) and the first seal pups of the season. We all enjoyed it. A selection of photos are here, the rest are in the normal place..

I have determined that yesterday was the official start of our summer holiday. Hosting American visitors and faffing around deciding whether camping in Snowdonia would really be fun don’t count. We are in Pembrokeshire, having arrived late Monday evening. Are spending a few days with the in-laws before heading to Snowdonia on Friday. The weather today would suggest that camping in Snowdonia really wouldn’t have been fun. I thought I might blog, kind of, our trip given we shall have wireless access at all points. Let’s see if I manage it.
Watching seals and choughs. Just lovely.
