Today we headed northwest to Mennonite country. The Mennonites are very much like the Amish in terms of their approach to life, clothing and transportation. We saw several horses and carts and many men and women wearing traditional clothing. There has only been a little snow today but the wind has been much stronger meaning that the windchill was pronounced and spending a lot of time outside not very sensible. We did however set out to find the last covered bridge in Ontario. As Poppy pointed out as we drove over it there is a very similar bridge in Beetlejuice and that I should look out for any stray dogs. We made it across without dying and having to spend the rest of our lives living in the attic of our old house.
Lunch was at Harveys; I resisted the extra dollar to go triple :-)
Tomorrow we head off to New York. A big storm is passing through the NE of the US and SE of Canada over the weekend. Milton (where we are) is forecast up to 30cm of snow by the end of Sunday. Fortunately (I think) we shall miss the worst of it but are expecting to return to even more snow than there is currently and are thinking about skiing next weekend. NYC should be snow free. Hoping that the IT facilities of the hotel are sufficient to maintain daily blogging.
